Birthday Cake

My son asked for a chocolate cake with chocolate eggs on top for his birthday.  In hindsight, he may have meant mini eggs!


I had to stick the cream eggs on with melted chocolate because they kept sliding off when I tried it with buttercream.  I like to think that it tasted a lot better than it looked!

Here is his real, shop bought cake.


Now, doesn't that look nice.

    Ha ha ha that 1st cake is brilliant J9, it reminded me of a film...hhmmm let me think now...which one woz it....hhmmmmm...oh yeah Aliens when they find all the eggs!!! I hope you didn't eat too much and W enjoyed his birthday!! Jeanette

    Thank you for your comment on my blog! The cake is very easy to do .... just a bit messy to put together! I have done a version with with malteezers arounf the sides (as well), so that it looked like a flat chocolate dalek!!!

    Both of your cakes look fantastic, but i can't help staring and daydreaming about the top one! You have certainly inspired my lunch choice today, chocolate and lots of it :) I just might struggle to find those chocolate eggs in August...
