Unravelled

In my bid to understand Ravelry I have been dipping in for short periods of time. I have joined a few groups, I have put on a project (although I have yet to upload a photo) and I have put a pattern in my basket. Yay.

Can anyone please tell me what the etiquette is for friends? My Ravelry account looks a bit lonely with no friends. Do I just add people or am I destined to be a 'billy no mates' forever? Any hints would be appreciated.

  1. People that you meet in forums you can add - you can add me! I'm Tammyg on there. Lots of the people that blogged last week are there, go to the Blog Hub and look some of them up...I've meet some people IRL and added them. But the majority of my friends came from Crochetville, although we no longer frequent there..

  2. Friend me! I'm allisonmariecat there, and I'd be interested in seeing your projects there :)

I still mainly use ravelry for research into pattern possibilities and to keep a record of my projects, so my ravelry friends are mostly my knitting blog friends.

  3. Hi,
Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. What is your Ravelry name and I'll sign you as a friend and you can do the same with me. My ravelry name is knitterbeader.

  4. Thank you so much. I have added you all as friends so it has tripled my friend base. I actually managed to do that on my own. My next job will be to post photos of my projects. My ravelry name is noddingviolets.

  5. I've just added you as a friend! I've been enjoying reading your blog since blog week. I am totally addicted to Ravelry and find it to be such a useful and inspiring resource. I'm not sure of the etiquette but I occasionally send friend requests to people whose work I admire. I haven't been turned down so far ;)

  7. Some people are pretty uncomfortable with random friending in Ravelry... but it's a safe bet friending folks you get familiar with in the forums. Also, stop by the Got Friends? group if you're looking for some people. And of course, I'll friend you! I'm superhiprachel on rav. :)
